The 20 inch Bird Bath arrived in less than a week after ordering, which I really appreciated. I ordered a separate LockNDry extension cord (recommended by Miller Manufacturing) from Amazon and hooked it up to the bird bath, all very easy to do. I am in Missouri and it is still too warm for the bird bath heater to turn on, but all the connections feel solid so I am confident that everything will work. The Bird Bath is a sort of a sand color, with a rough surface for birds to grip, and it looks great. I also placed two medium sized rocks in the bird bath for small birds to stand on. Also, I added a copper disk to help control algae; I am not sure how much good this does, but I decided to try something new. The instructions say to not place the bird bath on the ground so I have it on my patio, on a short (~2 inch tall) wrought iron plant stand. I wanted the bath to be low to the ground for not just birds, but also for squirrels, deer, a skunk, and I don't know what else shows up at night to drink water. Please notice in the attached pictures the black and red connection (right side of the bird bath, on the ground). This is the LockNDry extension cord connection to the bird bath, how to connect was included in the instructions included in the bird bath.
I am very happy that I purchased the bird bath from Miller Manufacturing because I feel confident they will stand behind their product based on their efforts to provide detailed instructions in the box. This is my 2nd heated bird bath, the first was purchased from a bird supply store with minimal instructions. It lasted about 15 years until the surface started peeling off; I didn't do a god job keeping it clean so it is probably my fault that the surface is peeling. Lesson learned.
