June is National Dairy Month! A month-long celebration to honor the hard-working dairy farmers and the dairy industry.
How It Started
National Dairy Month first began in 1937 as National Milk Month to promote drinking milk to US consumers. The celebration has evolved over time and the name was changed to National Dairy Month. It's a way to encourage consumers to eat and drink more dairy products. Not only does this support our farmers, but it's also a great time to learn about the nutritional benefits of different dairy products.

Health Benefits
Dairy is good for your bones! Calcium is crucial to the growth and strengthening of your bones. Snacking on yogurt, cheese, or a glass of milk can help prevent brittle bones.
Dairy reduces blood pressure. Diets that are rich in potassium help maintain a healthy blood pressure. Dairy products provide potassium and can reduce the risk of heart disease and strokes.
Milk is good for your teeth. Calcium helps protect your teeth against gum disease and keeps your jawbone strong. The protein that you get by drinking milk also helps to neutralize acids in the mouth.
