Today, on November 25th, 2014, Miller Manufacturing cut the ribbon on a new addition to the distribution center in Glencoe, Minnesota. As part of a multi-year expansion and renovation plan, the new D.C. addition adds nearly 100,000 square feet to the Minnesota manufacturing facility and distribution center. The reason? Healthy growth.
As Miller continues to identify new key business areas within the farm and ranch market, the growth has necessitated additional warehousing space and maneuverable areas for distribution. Most notably, Miller launched a new line of Little Giant® beekeeping supplies in 2014. Partnering with Kelley Beekeeping Company, Miller’s sister company with over 90 years of experience in the market, Miller has been able to successfully bring beginning beekeeping supplies to the hobbyist market at the retail level. Working with experienced beekeepers, Kelley Beekeeping, and the University of Minnesota, Miller launched a complete line featuring everything the beginning beekeeper needs to start their new hobby, or for the existing beekeeper to expand their apiary.
Miller continues to innovate in areas of the company’s legacy, as well. While the Little Giant® automatic poultry founts on which the company was founded in 1941 remain a pillar of the brand, the engineering team regularly rolls out new products to benefit the backyard hobbyist. The company launched over 60 new products in 2014, including retro-styled chick feeders and the popular, algae-inhibiting hen hydrator. “We’re grateful for such a dedicated base of customers,” Dan Ferrise, Miller Manufacturing’s CEO said. “It is only with our customers’ help that we can continue to add new products, support our existing line, and grow healthfully into the future of Miller Manufacturing here in Minnesota.” For more information on the rest of Miller Manufacturing’s new products, check out our new products page.
